An unidentified man snatched a gold chain from a woman at the Bull Temple in Basavanagudi on Friday morning. The incident was captured by the CCTV camera installed in the temple and the police are on the lookout for the accused.
A senior police officer said the victim Shanta P, a resident of Cubbonpet, had visited the temple to offer a special pooja around 11.30 am on Friday. She was in the queue and praying when a man, aged around 40, standing behind her, managed to pull out her chain worth Rs 1.8 lakh and escape.
She realised the chain was missing after some time. She approached the Basavanagudi police who checked the CCTV footage and found that the man standing behind her had escaped with her chain.
