A student from Yemen was killed while his friend sustained injuries when their bike hit a road median in Hennur on Monday.

The 21-year-old deceased, Abdul, was a resident of Marathahalli. He was doing a DPharm course at a private college near Thanisandra, the police said.

According to the police, the accident occurred on the upper ramp of the Hennur flyover. Abdul was riding the bike, while his friend Mazil was riding pillion. They were coming from Hennur Cross and were heading towards Marathahalli. While negotiating a turn on the flyover, the rider lost control of the bike and hit the median. They fell off and were injured, the police said. The police shifted them to a nearby hospital.

Later, Abdul was taken to Nimhans, where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday night. Mazil is said to be out of danger. Rash and negligent riding resulted in the accident, a police officer said.
