Youth hangs himself, body found after 4 days

The highly decomposed body of a 19-year-old man was found in a home in CK Palya near Anekal, South Bengaluru, on Saturday evening. Police suspect it to be a clear case of suicide but the family sees foul play.

Pavan Kumar, a courier delivery body by occupation, is suspected to have committed suicide shortly after his parents left for Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. When they returned on Saturday, they found the door locked and no response to their knocks. They broke open the door and found Pavan's half-naked body hanging from the ceiling.

The house was locked from inside and the CCTV footage of the area shows no one went near it. Pavan may have taken the extreme step over dejection in love, a senior police officer said.

A case of unnatural death has been registered at the jurisdictional Bannerghatta police station.
