Govt land given to 10-year old boy!

Not only that, but a mother, father and son were all given title deeds to land all on the same day. There are several such instances in Jala hobli, where the land was acquired by the KIADB for tech parks.

Bandikodigehalli is the place where three members of the family were all given ownership of government land on the same day and the KIADB promptly paid them compensation in crores for ‘acquiring’ their land!

Documents submitted to the KIADB say that B R Krishnappa, his wife Komalamma and their son were given government land measuring around four acres on July 3, 1985. However, this land was finally transferred into their name only in 2008.

The reason they quoted for their delayed claim on the land, was that they were unaware that they had been granted the land by the government.

Accepting the explanation, the state agreed to transfer the land. According to Land Reforms Act, only those who till the land can be given possession of the agricultural land. But the Revenue Department records show that Krishanappa’s son, aged 10 years in 1985 was allowed to transfer the land to his name.

The Lokayukta which is investigating the claims of fake documents being submitted to the KIADB, has seized several records pertaining to these cases from the Revenue Department. Meanwhile, the Lokayukta has received more complaints of bogus documents.
