Samajwadi Janata Dal merges with Gowda led JD(S)

Samata Party is also merging with JD(S) after the Bihar Assembly elections. The party will contest the election on JD(S) symbol, JD(S) chief H D Deve Gowda told reporters here.
"This will be a new beginning of Bihar politics," he said.

"Both BJP and Congress were the two sides of the same coin and the party would seek to provide a pro-poor, pro-farmer, pro-Dalit, pro-OBC, pro-minorities alternative to the people of Bihar," he said.

Asked whether the Left will be part of the JD(S) plan, party National Secretary Danish Ali said it was "not feasible" now as his party was a late entrant in the state.
"The Left parties are already in a coalition and have announced their seat sharing formula. I don't think it is feasible now for us to have a coalition," Ali said.
