Ensure supply of drinking water till it rains: Venkatashivareddy

He was speaking here on Tuesday at a meeting held to review progress of various departments. 

Stating that the Janaspandana programmes should be carried out effectively, the legislator told the officials to give adequate publicity prior to the programme and create awareness among the villagers on the event. He said, the programme should benefit residents in the villages find solutions to their problems without delay.

As the monsoon is playing truant, the legislator felt the need of measures to ensure adequate supply of water till it rains.

Stating that the public should be aware of the development works carried out in the constituency, he said the officials should see to it that the benefit of housings schemes are availed by the needy and the poor. He warned them that they would be held responsible if any irregularities are reported in implementation of the scheme.

Referring to complaints regarding the improper implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme, the legislator said, no work should be done using JCB in stead of manual labour. The officials should abide by the terms and conditions while implementing the scheme.

He instructed the chief executive officer of the taluk panchayat to take stern action against the officials who are indulged in unlawful activities.

Stating that he would put pressure on the police in discharging their duty, he advised them to resolve the disputes,  as far as possible, through compromise.

He also advised the officials to be upright and earn the goodwill of the public by discharging their duty with all sincerity.

ZP President M Srinivasan, Member G Rajanna, Town Municipality President B M Prakash, Tahasildar Manjunathswamy, TPExecutive Officer Prakash and Assistant Executive Engineer Navab Pasha attended the meeting.
