Varun to tie knot in February/March

The 30-year-old fireband leader overtakes his cousin and Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, who is yet to tie the knot and has constantly denied rumours of his getting married despite being linked to a foreigner for long. “The wedding is set to take place in February-March. The venue would be Delhi,” sources close to his family told Deccan Herald. Rahul, his sister Priyanka and Congress chief and Varun’s aunt Sonia will also be invited for the wedding, they said.

Varun and Yamini have  known each other since 2005, when he was introduced to her at a function in New York. Yamini is said to be a “quiet girl” who loves art , dance and literature and has no interest whatsoever in politics. She is trained in fine arts and graphics from Sorbonne University in Paris after graduating in philosophy from St Stephen’s College, Delhi, and speaks French, Spanish, English, Hindi and Bengali. And more importantly, she is a vegetarian, which, according to her friends, she has been since childhood and “has nothing to do with Varun and Maneka being hardcore vegetarians.”

The news has come in as a source of amusement for many in Varun’s party, who said, “he has been conducting series of mass marriages in his constituency Pilibhit for some time now. It is his time now to experience it”.
