Mother Teresa's statue unveiled

 “Sacrifice is something every religion calls for and she will be a source of inspiration and reminder of our own religious calling. Sacred Heart Church in Bangalore has been a historical landmark for the people of Bangalore and drawing people of different faiths to its sacred portals.  Mother Teresa had visited this church n 1995 for its centenary celebrations. We are glad to unveil the statue of the Mother near the very road named after her, ” the Archbishop said.

The statue is a monolith and weighs 1.5 tonnes. It was sculpted by 85 year old sculptor Puttenacharya in Heggadadevanakote.

Archbishop also inaugurated the PUC College of Sacred Heart along with an adoration chapel and a grotto to Mother Mary.
