Motamma visits rain-hit areas of Kadur

Expressing contempt over the Deputy Commissioner’s attitude, she said that when she questioned the DC about the loss, he said that the revenue officials have not yet submitted any report on the same.

“When I questioned the DC whether compensation will be given to the families who have been rendered homeless due to heavy rains, DC said that the incident has not been brought to his notice. It is shocking. We should take note of this issue and understand that our district administration is not heading on the right direction. BJP Government is responsible for such a negligent attitude of the officials,” Motamma said and added that compensation amount has already been given to people from Kandagallu and Devigrama in Hassan district where people had lost their houses due to rains.

Coming down heavily on Chikmagalur MP D V Sadananda Gowda, she said that the MP has not even bothered to direct the DC to conduct a survey and take steps to distribute the compensation.

“CM B S Yeddyurappa had made promises of adopting Kadur, during the bypolls but now he seems to have forgotten about it completely. He has not yet come to the rescue of the people who have lost their homes due to heavy rains,” Motamma said and added that MLC Y S V Datta has said that he would stage a protest outside CM’s residence if CM does not order for comprehensive development of Kadur within October 15. “If Datta stands by his statement, I will support him,” said Motamma.
