Merai, Kerkar shore up West innings

 At the Anantapur ground on Thursday as the third round of matches in the competition got under way, West were well served by Bhargav Merai and Rohan Kerkar, both of whom struck half-centuries. While Kerkar was dismissed for 67, Merai had put himself in line for a century when play resumes on the morrow, having progressed to 84. Philip KJ was South’s most successful bowler with figures of three for 60.

On a dramatic day at the Infosys ground in Mysore when as many as 20 wickets fell, ZCA North moved into a position of strength against ZCA Central in a game that appears headed for an early finish. North led by 75 with all ten second innings wickets standing.

At Hosur: Combined Under-16: 225 all out in 84 overs (Unmukt Chand 79, Shreyas Gopal 32; Ashwin Kumar 2-32, Shaurya Sanadia 2-48) vs All India Universities: 21/0 in 4 overs.
At Mysore (Infosys ground): ZCA North: 129 all out in 45.1 overs (Anil Sihag 47, Mandeep Singh 32; Amanlith 4-50, Gaurav Sharma 3-32) and 16/0 vs ZCA Central: 70 all out in 31.1 overs (Sunny Sherawat 5-24, Vikram Dahiya 3-20).

At Mysore (Gangotri Glades ground): President’s XI: 272 all out in 82.4 overs (Samit Gohel 109 n.o., Ashish Sinha 81, Avilin Ghosh 28; Kundan Singh 5-83, Mani Shankar Mura Singh 3-30) vs ZCA East: 14/0.
