Food Mela inaugurated

Commending the organisers for setting up stalls to sell Nanjangud Rasabale, Mysore Pak and Mysore Mallige, Ramdas said that three years back, the Agriculture Minister of Israel visited Mysore and enjoyed eating the Nanjangud Rasabale. Later, he took the plantain saplings from here and planted them in Israel. Now after three years Israel has created a market for this brand of banana.

Dasara food subcommittee chairman, M Rajendra said that apart from the stalls for bajjis and dosas, cuisine from Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and other states will be available. He said that the food subcommittee received around 350-400 applications, but they could accommodate only 60 stalls.

No stalls set-up

However, at the time of inauguration, only one or two stalls were set-up. The remaining 55-60 stalls were vacant. Rajendra said that the stalls were expected to be filled by the end of the day.

Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta, MLCs Prof Mallikarjunappa, Thontadarya, ZP, CEO, Sathyavathy, Karnataka Exhibition Authority, Chairman, Manjunath, and MCC, Commissioner, K S Raykar were present.
