Two killed in road mishaps

  According to the police, Murali (33) was heading towards his house on his bike on Thursday night when he rammed into a stationary excavator on Chikkabegur Road  and sustained critical injuries. Passersby rushed him to the Columbia Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

In the second incident, Vijay Kumar (20) was returning home at Devanagundi when a truck ran over him on Soolibele Road in the early hours of Friday. The driver of the truck fled the spot.

Ends life

A female garment factory worker committed suicide after she was allegedly reprimanded by her supervisor in Preetinagar near Rajagopalanagar on Friday night. Suma (37) was an employee at Sonal Garments factory in Peenya 4th stage. Suma was reprimanded by her supervisor and upset by the event, she came home and hanged herself.  Her husband Shivannachari has lodged a complaint.

Houses burgled

Thieves targeted the residence of Shivakumar Reddy in Rajajinagar on Thursday and made away with gold ornaments and cash worth Rs five lakhs. An area sales manager with a private firm, Shivakumar was away when the burglars decamped with 323 grams gold and a cash of Rs 1.50 lakh from this house. A complaint has been lodged.

In another incident, cash and valuables worth Rs 70,000 have been stolen from the residence of Syeda Kausar at Khuddus Saheb on Nandidurg Road.

Attempts suicide

A 15-year-old girl Vijayalakshmi attempted suicide by setting herself on fire on Friday morning. With major burn wounds she has been admitted to the Victoria Hospital. It was learnt that she was suffering from stomach pain and on Friday morning she took the drastic step when she developed pain once again.
