All set to take revenge

Watch Collateral Damage on HBO on October 12 at 9 pm. The movie stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Leguizamo, John Turturo and Francesca Neri. Firefighter Gordon Brewer is done putting out fires and ready to start one of his own.

When his wife and child are horrifically killed in an international terrorist bombing — linked to Claudio ‘The Wolf’ Perrini — the CIA and the FBI offer no answers and no response. With the official investigation going nowhere, and haunted by the thought of his family’s killers walking away scot-free, Gordon swears revenge, even if it takes him to Colombia.

Exposing the lies

They say a picture is worth thousand words. And it augments, when the image is of a face.

Uncover the deepest secrets behind a face with Star World, as it launches an unusual thought-provoking crime drama.

A police procedural, yes, but one with a dramatic and mesmerising difference. Lie To Me hits airwaves on October 12, and airs every Monday to Thursday at 10 pm.
A dramatic series which is about a former police officer who is a “human lie detector” and an expert in reading facial and body language that gives away deception.
The season opens with Cal and Gillian hiring a new associate — former TSA officer Ria Torres.

Ria scored extraordinarily high on Cal’s deception detection, and is labelled a “natural” at deception detection.

Her innate talent in the field clashes with Cal’s academic approach, and he often shows off by rapidly analysing every facial expression of hers.

And in addition to a strong premise, the show boasts of great production. The series follows Lightman and his team of deception experts as they assist law enforcement and government agencies to expose the truth behind the lies.

Best in weaponology

Discovery Science takes viewers behind the latest in weaponology. Its new series Top Tens — Machine Guns tracks the top ten machine guns in the history of war.
Find out the best combat machines ever made. Tune in to the show on October 12 at 9.30 pm.

Tremendous techniques

Airing every Tuesday at 9 pm, Discovery Channel’s Man Vs Wild makes viewers hold their breath and watch Bear Grylls as he battles venomous snakes, eats dead sheep for survival, swims among alligators and combats most deadly stings.

Bear jumps into a variety of sticky situations and employs techniques — from building shelter and snow caves to escaping quicksand and sinkholes to eating scorpions and insects — that, while certainly unusual and sometimes unthinkable, could be life-saving.
