A cute love story

When he is left at the altar of his own wedding, he becomes a newlywed’s worst nightmare — until he realises he is free to rescue the woman he really loves from her boorish fiance.

All set to dazzle

Richa Sharma is all set to give a grand performance at the closing ceremony of Commonwealth Games on October 14 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi. The closing ceremony is expected to be a great show with the athletes being all emotional at the thought of going back to their native places after having a fantastic experience at the CWG.

With their hard work and dedication, many emerged as winners in many sporting events. To keep their journey memorable and give them more memories to cherish, Richa Sharma will be performing live. Thousands of athletes and audiences present there will be listening to her compelling songs.

From bad to good

Gulshan Grover, who has always been known as the famous ‘Bad Man’, seems to have turned a new leaf.

The man, who was only seen on the big screen as the most hated character in a film, is all ready to be seen in a new avatar in his upcoming film — Payback. He plays a cop in the film yet again but with positive shades.

He is a cop with a clear conscience and not to be messed around with, in a good way. On being asked, he said, “The makers of the film have finally seen the good man in me. It was great to be playing this role. Even though I have played a cop on screen in many of my movies, this character is a good and virtuous cop. It is also great to be directed by new directors like Sachin Karande, who are so focused on their work and know exactly what to extract out of their actors. I am sure the audiences will appreciate the film and the hard work that has gone into making it." We sure hope that the audiences will welcome the changed Gulshan Grover.

An inner struggle

It’s time for the Hand Picked Movie Of The Month. On October 13 at 9 pm, PIX presents A Single Man — an American drama based on the novel by Christopher Isherwood directed by debutant, Tom Ford.

While many people have heard of Tom Ford (he is a celebrated American fashion designer who has gained international fame for his turnaround of the Gucci fashion house and the creation of this very own label), not many know that he has also directed this successful film viz.

A Single Man follows an unhappy single day in the life of George Falconer, played by an exceptionally talented actor Colin Firth, who is struggling to find meaning in his life after the death of his long-time partner.

The protagonist has a series of encounters which ultimately leads him to decide if there still remains a meaning to his life after the loss of his partner. Colin delivers an outstanding performance as a person who leads a withdrawn life with some sparks of wit and fun.

The film showcases a man’s internal fight to reconstruct his personality to bear the weight of loss of his partner and whom, society will not permit to grieve.
