Seminar on emerging trends in computing and business

Sambhram Academy of Management Studies, Jalahalli East, Banglaore recently conducted a national seminar on ‘Emerging Technologies in Advanced Computing & Emerging Business Paradigms’. Dr N Jayasankaran, former Vice Chancellor, Kanchi University, was the chief guest. He asserted the importance of adopting new techniques of teaching. He also emphasised the need for research and innovative skills. V Nagaraj, Vice Chairman, spoke about the need for adaptability and sustainability in addressing technological challenges that are thrust on society. Educationists, IT professionals, academics and students took part in the seminar.

Winners felicitated

Close to 2.5 lakh students from 400 schools participated in the recent 2009-10 edition of Tata Building India School Essay Competition from nine cities. The English edition of the 2009-10 competition was held in 36 cities across the country where a million students from 1500 schools participated. Tata group felicitated the city-level winners of the fourth edition of ‘Tata Building India School Essay Competition - English 2009-10’ from the south zone. The regional awards ceremony was held in Chennai. The chief guest for the evening, Dr V Vijayakumar, Vice-Chancellor of Dr Ambedkar Law University, gave away the trophies and certificates to the winners. The English edition of the competition was held in 36 cities across the country where around a million students from 1500 schools participated. The winning essays from these 36 cities will be further judged by a prominent jury for national level recognition. The English essay competition is a part of the national-level contest which has been conducted in 6 languages (English, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, and Tamil).
