Scholarships for visually impaired students

Vidya Vikasa Trust invites applications for scholarships from visually impaired students from economically  backward groups.

Candidates who have passed Class 10 or an equivalent exam may apply. Applications forms can be obtained by sending a self-addressed envelop to Vidya Vikasa Trust, Shankaranarayana Nilaya, No. 225, B-20, 37th cross, Second Block , Rajajinagar, Bangalore-10.
Last date for receiving the application form is November 21, 2010.

Symposium on HR and leadership challenges

The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, will be holding a two-day symposium called the ‘Symposium on HR & Leadership Challenges for Businesses in India’ on January 28 and 29, 2011.

Participation in the symposium will be through an advance paper submission along with a presentation of the same at the event. The paper could be in the form of a contribution of new ideas, perspectives, industry’s best practices and case studies on the mentioned subject.

Apart from the presenting delegates, IIM Kozhikode is seeking participation from interested academia and practicing fraternity. Papers should be between 6,000 and 8,000 words and should be submitted on or before the end of October, 2010.

National Business quiz contest

Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies invites applications for the National Business Quiz Competition. The quiz is open to business schools, engineering colleges and corporates.

The event is a part of the Management Fest ‘Inflore 2010’. The quiz is scheduled for October 29 and 30, 2010. Last date for registration is October 15, 2010.
 
According to a press note, winners of the quiz will be awarded handsome cash prizes.

Diploma course for aspiring scribes

Samvada is launching a six-month diploma course called Archaeology of the Media for young and aspiring journalists.

The course is designed as a 24-week, three-semester, multi-disciplinary course combining training in theory, practice and ethics of media work with the aid of expert media academics and practitioners.

Using technology for better learning

Manipal K-12 Education, has announced the launch of a digital learning solutions programme for engineering colleges that aims at empowering faculty with learning aids and objects. 

The programme solutions aim to create a rich learning environment where students can grasp concepts easily with the help of animation, videos, 2D/3D images, PPTs, etc.

The solution also provides a platform for collaborative content enhancement for teachers and students.
