“A large number of MLAs in Congress and JD(S) are disillusioned with the attitude of their leaders. Besides, they have realised that continuing with Congress and JD(S) will jeopardise their political career,” he told mediapersons, here on Wednesday. However, he added exact number of MLAs joining BJP is not known.

When quizzed on the efforts by his father and Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to woo Lingayat MLAs in Congress and JD(S), he said that “Both Ashwath of Channapattana and S V Ramachandra of Jagalur are not Lingayats. More than the caste, it is the BJP’s ideology and B S Yeddyurappa’s leadership that has impressed them,” he claimed. Coming down heavily on Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah and State JD(S) President H D Kumaraswamy, he alleged that the duo have joined hands to topple a democratically elected government. Their secret power sharing pact has displeased MLAs of their parties, he added.
