Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the unit, Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Samiti President Krishna Baire Gowda said political leadership among youths is very much important to strengthen the internal democracy of the country. He said National Students Union of India is making efforts to reach out to every possible youth of all walks of life besides creating avenues to the youths to expose them to the political arena.
Brushing aside the allegations by opposition parties claiming NSUI involvement in politicising the campus by inculcating unhealthy political habits among students, Gowda said these people are grossly mistaken.
Youth lead
India is the youngest country and about 60% of Indian population comprises youth. “At present, we are going through historical transformation, where youths in the country are leading the country. We cannot ignore the contribution of youths. Energy and dynamism is encapsulated among the youths of our country,” he added.
He said Indian politics is suffering from lack of youth leaders and added the recent political drama of Karnataka state government is one of the worst of its kind in recent years. Karnataka is branded as most corrupt state in the country. Humanity suffers not by the deeds of bad people, but it suffers because of silence of good majority.
Needs public outrage
No public outrage has been witnessed against the ongoing political activities in the State, he lamented.
“The future of the country depends on a large extent on the political system that governs the country and here we need the leadership of youth mass to strengthen the internal democracy,” he said.
National Students Union of India Manipal Unit President Siddhartha Bhandarkar was handed over with Congress flag on the occasion.
