'People's audit on Dec 11, 12'

Addressing a press conference, PUCL DK unit President P B D’Sa said that all victims of police torture in Coastal districts can file their complaints in English or Kannada with relevant information and documents at the PUCL Office situated at ‘Pauline’ near Muller’s Road in Valencia in the City before November 30. Those who have suffered at the hands of government doctors and judiciary too can file complaints, he said adding that the complainants should mention their name, address, details of witnesses in the complaint.

The consolidated data with regard to police torture of the region will be submitted to the State government, National Human Rights Commission, State Human Rights Commission and to the Supreme Court, he added.

The jury of the people’s audit will be headed by former High Court Judge Justice M F Saldanha. Senior Advocate Purushotham Poojary, human rights activists Nagari Babaiah, Mathew Philip, Prof Rita Noronha and Merlyn Martis will be the jury members.
