4 held for hiding gold find

Five nuggets of gold, weighing about half a kg and valued at Rs eight lakh was found while four labourers were digging behind Kottureshwara temple about two months ago.

Ramanna, Sanna Vijaya, Kotresh and Sanna Kotresh had shared the find amongst themselves. While Ramanna had sold his share for Rs one lakh the other three had kept the gold with them. Police, who got a tip-off, said Ramanna had revealed it to some people as he was suffering from guilt. He had not utilised the money obtained from selling the gold.

On inquiry the remaining three confessed to the gold find. The police recovered four nuggets and a cash of Rs one lakh.
