The operation was carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) in 40 cities across 30 states, Prensa Latina reported. FBI spokesman Jason Pack said the operation - dubbed Cross Country V - intended to stop the activities of procurers who were making a profit by sexually exploiting children.
Pack said that the highest number of victims - in the age group of 12 to 17 years - was detected in Seattle. The report, however, did not disclose the exact number.
