KGA caddie found dead

Working with KGA for over eight years, Mahadev had carried the kits of many members and is said to have had a clean record.

According to the police, Mahadev’s body, in a pair of brief and vest, was found in the pond between the fifth and sixth hole on the course on Tuesday morning. Police suspect that the death could have occurred the previous night. The caddie’s family, said he had left home on Monday morning dressed in his golf t-shirt and trousers.

Sources suspect it to be a murder. They say that there could have been a tiff between the caddie and some of the contractors over collection of golf balls from the pond. Each of the used golf balls carry a tag of about Rs 50.

KGA officials refused to divulge any information on the death of the caddie.

Woman dies

A 45-year-old married woman who had consumed copper sulphate on November 7 died on Tuesday night in a hospital in Indiranagar.

According to the police, the victim Sharada of Chikmagalur had consumed the chemical mixture at her native place. She was referred to the Bowring Hospital from Hassan District Hospital from where she was again referred to a private hospital in Indiranagar. The reasons are yet to ascertained, the police said.
