Mixed day for India at AYG

Zhong Chunchan of China won gold with 499.5 (396+103.5) while Go Dowon of Korea and Alzayed Hessah of Kuwait won the silver and bronze with scores of 498.6 (395+103.6) and 497.8 (395+102.8).

In athletics, Ravi Kumar (2:03.90) and Namita Kabat (2:21.51) won their respective heats in boy’s and girl’s 800M heats to qualify for the finals.

G Kalam Pulikkalpotta qualified for the finals in girl’s 100M hurdles by finishing third in the heat with a timing of 16.41secs.

In beach volleyball, Indian boys team of Rajkumar Chandran and Ravi Madhusoodhan beat Yemen 2-0 in a Group A match, keeping a constant lead of at least three points in both sets throughout the game.

But the girl’s team of Revathi Kanagasalam and Pavithra Varadharajan lost 0-2 (9-21, 11-21) to Thailand in Group E.

In table tennis mixed team first stage matches, India beat Mongolia and Turkeminstan with 3-0 margin. In Basketball, Indian boys thrashed Uzbekistan 33-8 in Group D.
