Siddaramaiah held talks with Gowda for nearly 20 minutes at the latter’s residence. Speaking to media, Siddaramaiah described it as a courtesy call. He said, he and Gowda are friends when the two were in Janata Dal (JD) earlier. “I had met Gowda when he was in a hospital in Bangalore. And, came to meet him again to enquire about his health”, Siddaramaiah said.

On a query over inviting Gowda to Congress, Siddaramaiah said it’s the prerogative of Gowda to decide his next move as  he too is a senior legislator having won four times. Showing soft corner towards him, Siddaramaiah said Gowda has met with injustice and has been disqualified as MLA illegally.

Siddaramaiah also disclosed that they along with Janata Dal (Secular) have already moved a no confidence motion against the Speaker despising his partial act at the behest of the Government during the trust vote. We are pressing for early convening of the session to discuss on the same, he said.

Siddaramaiah alleged that sarees worth Rs 20 crore are being distributed to the Bhagyalakshmi beneficiaries by the government.

He clarified that Congress was not against distributing the saree, but will oppose this move if they are being distributed with an eye on the forthcoming ZP, TP polls. He also supported the proposal to impose toll on the highways, barring the vehicles of farmers.

Shankarlingegowda sang paeans of H D Devegowda and others crediting them for making him Mayor, besides helping him scale political heights. He also expressed his loyalty to State president of JD-S H D Kumaraswamy.
