Sri Lanka to get Indian assistance to train judges

The MoU will enable Colombo to send judges to Bangalore and Bhopal to receive training, Sri Lankan Justice Ministry said after a meeting between Justice Minister Athauda Senviratne and Indian High Commissioner Ashok A Kantha yesterday.

Sri Lanka and India share a legal system based on the Roman Dutch law established by the British colonial rulers who ruled both countries until 1948 and 1947 respectively.
