CM's visit: Police impose many restrictions

Instead of distributing sarees at 12 noon, he will distribute the sarees at 11 am at Gandhi Maidan.

Chief Minister will also lay foundation stone for various development projects on the occasion and will leave for Bangalore at 12.15 pm from Madikeri, said DC Ashwathanarayana Gowda and SP Manjunath Annigeri.

They said that as many as 150 buses will be deployed to get mothers of Bhagyalakshmi scheme beneficiaries to the city.

Parking

Manjunath Annigeri said that buses from Somwarpet should be parked at Man’s Compound, buses from Virajpet must be parked at KSRTC depot and RMC yard, buses from Madikeri taluk should be parked at KSRTC bus stand. Only buses from Somwarpet will come to Gandhi Maidan to take back the beneficiaries.

The SP said that the vehicles belonging to VIPs and public should be parked at Fort premises.

The movement of vehicles will be banned at Major Mangerira Muthanna Circle to Race Course Road from 10 am till the programme concludes on November 15.

About 600 police personnel including 100 women police will be deployed for the Chief Minister’s programme.

To a query on possibility of JD(S) carrying out protest during the distribution of sarees, SP said “no political parties have informed the police department about the protest. If anyone stages protest, then action will be initiated legally.”
