'Liberhan report may not be tabled in House'

Asked for his comments on the Liberhan Commission report on the circumstances leading to the demolition of the disputed structure at Ayodhya,  Chidambaram started by saying “ I have lot to say on the report….” And then he smilingly added “ I have not read the report”.

The Home Minister said on Monday he had received “a huge bag” containing the report.

“I have not opened it,” he said. When are you going to read it ? “I am a pretty slow reader,” he quipped.

On the question of placing the report before the Parliament, Chidambaram referred to his “slow reading” habit.

Meanwhile, former HRD Minister and senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi on Tuesday refused to answer any queries on the Liberhan Commission report saying “I am not supposed to comment.”

Joshi who was expressing collective views of the education Ministers from the BJP and NDA ruled states on the “education reforms” by the Centre said he would confine himself to the specific subject.
