Addressing  the gathering at the launch of Bhagyalakshmi Scheme at the grounds opposite Maharaja College here, Yeddyurappa said, a government order will be issued within a week  in  this regard.

Not forgetting unorganised small vendors, he said ` 500 crore revolving fund will be set up to help  Apex Banks  advance loan at one per cent interest rate to fruits, vegetables and other roadside vendors.

Not stopping with his announcements spree, Yeddyurappa asserted that his government intends to construct 5,000 houses for poor  in each taluks under the aegis of Gram Panchayats and Taluk Panchayats. He instructed the Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta who was also on the dais, to scout for suitable land for the purpose.

Following a request from the deputy commissioner, the chief minister promised to sanction ` 10 crore to construct residential quarters for officers accommodation in the taluks. The dc has requested for a total of ` 40 crore for the facility.

 In an attempt to project that the State Government is functioning normally, Yeddyurappa here claimed to have recorded 32 pc revenue growth in the first six months.

The State has collected ` 17,840 crore taxes against ` 13,540 collected in the corresponding period in the previous year. When compared to other States like Maharashtra (27 pc), Tamil Nadu (27 pc), Kerala (22) and Andhra Pradesh (24 pc). Moreover, according to the Planning Commission, State ranks second in implementing 20 points programme after Gujarat.

Continuing his tirade against the opposition, Yeddyurappa said instead of co-operating with the ruling party allowing the latter to continue with the people welfare programmes, they are indulge in staging protests.

He appealed to the gathering to support him in his endeavour, as he vouches to take BJP’s tally in the assembly to 150 legislators.

Yeddyurappa lauded the district administration for bringing out a booklet printing the names of all the 53,200 ‘Bhagyalakshmi’ beneficiaries in the district.  He also appreciated their efforts behind bringing out another booklet on the  developmental works carried out in two years in the district.
