Spectator movement near sightscreens distracting home batsmen

Last Updated 14 November 2010, 13:38 IST

There have been many instances in the last two days when people walked past the sightscreens on both ends of the stadium in the middle of an over, thus disturbing the concentration of the batsman.

It happened quite a few times with Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman today and Suresh Raina too was disturbed by it at the start of his innings, when someone was constantly moving behind the sightscreen.

Virender Sehwag, a few deliveries before being bowled by Daniel Vettori in the final session yesterday, too had a problem with the movement behind the sightscreen.Dravid, however, played it down, saying, "It happens a bit on Indian conditions. I don't think about it when I am batting."

The issue has been brought to the notice of Hyderabad Cricket Association vice-president Shivlal Yadav, who is also the vice-president of the Indian Cricket Board.Suggestions have been made that the area around the two sightscreens be barricaded so that nobody can enter that area
