Community members offered special prayers at the Idgah Masjid at the Light House Hill. Mangalore Khazi Twaqa Ahmed Moulavi led the prayers and later delivered blessings. Moulavi explaining the significance of the festival called upon community members to pray for peace and harmony in the society.

Special namaz was offered by the community members at the Masjid Thwaqa at Pumpwell in the City. Similar prayers were offered at the Al Huda Masjid in Thokkottu, where Jamat-e- Islami Hind Youth Wing President Mohammed Kunhi delivered preachings. He said that the festival is being celebrated to commemorate the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim, who built ‘Khaba’ at Mecca. “Prophet Ibrahim spreads the message of universal brotherhood,” he added.

Muslim brethren exchanged ‘Eid Mubarak’ wishes and returned home to celebrate the holy festival.
