Nandi Pooja Mahotsava on Sunday

Jagannath, secretary of the committee told reporters on Thursday that the anointment and deepotsava event held in Karthika month of every year would be a grand affair. The samiti would be hosting the programme for the fifth consecutive year.

The pooja mahotsava would begin at 9 am on the day in the presence of Suttur mutt seer Shivaratri Deshikendra, Hosamath seer Chidananda Swamy. The dignitaries from the city would also attend the programme.

The anointment to Nandi will be done using more than 25 varieties of items and liquids.

Deepotsava

The committee will be organising Deepotsava the following day on Monday. Thousands of clay lamps (deepa) will be lighted surrounding the Nandi statue. The deepotsava would begin at 7 pm, he said. Working president Govind, Thimmappa, treasurer Naveen and others were present.
