Usha Aron won over the audiences with her intricate solos and Johnson stole the hearts of many with his integrated musicals.

Usha’s concert commenced with a Beethoven Sonata. The symphony contained numerous pianistic techniques.

Her second performance was German composer Bach’s Prelude and Fugue.

Usha exhibited her mastery over the instrument through this technically heavy composition.

Up next was Schumann’s musical piece which was a mixture of many emotions. She concluded her concert with Prokofieff’s masterpiece ‘Suggestion Diabolique’ and garnered appreciation from the audience for her wonderful performance.

The musical theatre recital by J W Johnson was also fresh and gave a unique experience. In his first performance I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major General from The Pirates of Penzance itself, Johnson presented an alluring recital and kept the interest of the audiences soaring till the end. His performance for The Music Of The Night from the movie The Phantom of the Opera was highly commendable.

He effortlessly essayed this seductive song where the Phantom plots to seduce Christine.

His next performance If I Were A Rich Man from ‘Fiddler On The Roof’ reflected the dreams of glory.  A poor man called Tevye dreams of the material comforts that wealth would bring him. Johnson played his part with much ease and also sang this intense song.

“It is great to watch Usha and Johnson perform. Usha has really grown as a performer and today, she gave a solid recital. Johnson has got a very promising presence on stage. He took to the skin of the characters he played with convincing ease,” said Sherly Pushparaj, a member of the audience.

“Through this stage, we would like to extend an  opportunity to young and budding musicians to showcase their talent from in and around the City.

Interested performers can email us their audition videos which would be later processed by the jury members,” said Ashwin Prabhakaran from Theme Music. For details, email Ashwin on ashwin@themepiano.org
