Her last outing at the box office, Taare Zameen Par, proved to be a huge turning point in

her life. With many awards coming her way, there was no looking back for Tisca Chopra. Soon she took the stage by acting in four plays, directed by Feroz Khan, who she considers her guru. In the City recently for the play Dinner With Friends, Tisca says the play is as real as it can get.

“It has been one of the toughest things I have ever done in my life. It took a lot out of me. I actually went for singing classes and even changed my diet to put on weight but ended up losing five kilos. Feroz really challenges you as an actor and that’s what I like about him,” Tisca tells Metrolife.

Another director, who Tisca really enjoyed working with, is Madhur Bhandarkar. She is working in Madhur’s latest project Dil Toh Bacha Hai Ji, where she stars opposite Emraan Hashmi. Describing the director as a realist, Tisca says, “The script of Dil Toh... was a real challenge.

When Madhur came to me, I didn’t think I could do it because it was a rather bold character and it was just not me. But somehow he was sure I would be able to pull off the character.”

Ask her about the film and she says, “It’s a very bold script. Madhur plans to take every one inside the real lives of ‘Page 3’ people and explore the aspects of why such people become ‘Page 3s’.”

Having worked with the ‘serial kisser’, can one expect some ‘bold scenes’ in the film? “For that, one will just have to wait and watch the film,” she laughs and adds, “Emraan is a real professional. He is one actor who makes you feel very comfortable before the shot and I wouldn’t mind working with him again.”

Tisca will also be seen in Rangeen, Mirch, Khushiyaan and Room No 404 and in each of these films, she promises to be seen in a different avatar. “Right now, I am in a happy place as I am getting to portray so many different characters. That’s the thrill of acting,” she signs off.
