Agriculture Minister Umesh Katti told reporters in Bangalore that the total crop loss due to flood and drought in various district since April was around Rs 400 crore.
A delegation from the State will soon be calling on Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar in New Delhi to seek Central aid to compensate crop loss of farmers. Besides, the State would also request the Centre to enhance the support price for jowar, sajje and ragi.
He said the total crop yield in the State was above average and the total rice production 45-lakh quintal, an eight-lakh quintal increase compared to last year.
