Forest guard brutally burnt alive for timber

Forest officer D Shivlal Nayak was patrolling his forest reserve during his regular patrol duty when he was attacked in the Kalher area allegedly by timber smugglers. They first attacked him with an axe and later set him on fire.

Medak Superintendent of Police A Sunder Kumar Das said Nayak’s charred body of was recovered from the forest belt on Friday morning.

“There were two deep axe wounds on his head and face. Culprits had used the petrol from his motorcycle to set him on fire which burnt most of his front while posterior portion was intact,” he said.
