He was speaking at a programme organised to felicitate Kannada Rajyotsava awardees N Ramanuja and Prof A V Narasimhamurthy at the Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) here on Saturday.

Expressing grave concern over ongoing developments in politics, the minister said that he was striving for the betterment of the people. He bemoaned that the moral values have declined in politics.

Despite being a law maker, he said that more than making laws it is important for families to inculcated traditional values.  He said that if every family brings forward one person such as Ramanuja and Prof Narasimhamurthy who are dedicated to maintain traditional values, then success will be assured and each person will become an asset.

Earlier, journalist K B Ganapathy listed out the achievements of the Kannada Rajyotsava awardees. BVB Secretary P S Ganapathi, Treasurer Prof A T Bhashyam were present.
