Last Updated 28 November 2010, 10:20 IST

'ICA Expo Coop 2010' will focus on the cooperative sector across the world as a commercially successful model for promoting social responsibility and sustainable development, the organisers said in a statement.

More than 130 cooperative exhibitors from 22 countries will participate in the show, which aims at enhanced commercial development, increased exposure and networking and trading opportunities between cooperatives and leading non-cooperative buyers and suppliers, it said.

The ICA Expo offers a platform where buyers have direct contact with makers of high quality products without an intermediate, thereby benefitting both parties.

Visitors to the ICA Expo Coop can shop for a wide selection of competitive products and services developed by agricultural, consumer, worker and service cooperatives in the health and energy sectors, among others, the organisers said.

Cooperatives from Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Korea, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, East Timor, the UK and the USA will converge in India to showcase their products and services at the event, it said.
