Minister meets 'tainted' officer in Agrahara prison

Narayanaswamy and IT and BT minister Katta Subramanya Naidu’s son Jagadish Katta, who is an accused in the KIADB land scam, met Ramanjaneya at Parappana Agrahara jail, while former minister Venkataramanappa and JD(S) leader Prasad Babu met him at hospital on the prison premises, where he was taken for a medical check-up.

Narayanaswamy said his visit to the prison was scheduled a week ago. He wanted to have first-hand information about the condition of the prison. During the visit, he interacted with many inmates, including Telgi, imprisoned in the fake stamp paper scam. “I visited the prison as the Minister for Prisons. During the course of my visit, I interacted with many inmates. There is nothing special about it,” he said.

Katta Jagadish was in the same prison some time ago after he was arrested by the Lokayukta in connection with offering bribe to a witness in the KIADB scam.
According to police sources, Jagadish met Ramanjaneya around 2.30 pm and had talks with him for a few minutes.

Venkataramanappa, disqualified MLA from Pavagada constituency, the native of Ramanjaneya. He said there was nothing significant in him meeting Ramanjaneya.
JD(S) leader Prasad Babu also met him in the hospital.

Shifted to Jayadeva hospital
Ramanjaneya was suffering varations in blood pressure soon after he was arrested on Monday. The Lokayukta police took him to Bowring hospital for health check-up. He underwent treatment in the prison hospital on Tuesday. Later in the evening, he was shifted to Jayadeva hospital. He has been remanded in judicial custody till December 13.
