Awareness rally marks World AIDS Day

Students from various schools and colleges and members of organisations took part in the programmes.

District Session Judge Rajeshwari Hegde and R Vinuta Srinivas launched the campaign at the Junior College.

The campaign helps people to know about the disease, its symptoms and prevention methods, they observed.

District Health Officer Dr B N Byareddy, Aids Division Officer Dr Baby Reddy, Rishi Sanskriti Foundation President K Veena, Myrada Organisation, Paramahamsa Foundation, Soukhya Sanjeevini Organisation members and others were present on the occasion.

In Bangarpet

As part of World Aids Day, the Myrada Soukhya organisation had organised awareness programme on HIV/AIDS for college students in Bangarpet on Wednesday.

The students of various schools and colleges took out awareness rally.

Counsellor Shailaja spoke on the dreaded disease and precautionary measures to prevent it from spreading. She also mentioned about the treatment available for the people living with HIV/AIDS.

Pledge to fight

Hundreds of students from various schools who participated in the candle light rally pledged that they would fight against the dreaded disease, in Kolar on Wednesday.  Justice Veeranna G Tigadi administered oath to them at Gandhi Bhavan.

The rally was jointly organised by district administration, district health and family welfare department.
