Take lead in eliminating evils in society, SHGs told

“Sthree Shakti and other Self-Help Groups should take a lead role in eliminating evils in the society,” suggested ODP Organisation district officer Joyce Menezes.

Speaking at the annual day of Balamuri Self-Help Group of Nagegowda Layout in Mullusoge village near here on Tuesday, Menezes said that women organisations also play a vital role in bringing women into the mainstream of the society, in addition to empower them.

Local corporator and Corporation Bank senior manager Jayadeva Bhat said that the women organisations not only empowers women, but also encourage them to be self-dependant. He requested women organisation members to make use of the banking facilities and schemes.

Ayurvedic physician Dr Soumya was the guest while Group representative K A Saroja presided.
