Minister assures appointment of teachers

Speaking after visiting Ambedkar Bhavan in the town on Thursday, he said there are plans to award grace marks to the teachers who are in service during the current academic year and appoint them.

He had allotted ` 45 crore for the construction of 39 residential schools during his tenure as the minister of Social Welfare department and has also released ` 35 crore to take up repair works of the current residential schools, he disclosed.

He assured to release ` eight crore for the construction of a community hall to be named after Babu Jagjeevanram within a fortnight. He also promised funds of ` 50 lakhs to the construction of Ambedkar Bhavan and ` 50 lakh for the development of dalit colonies.

Town Panchayat former president A R Venkatesh felicitated the minister on the occasion. MLA Y N Rudreshgowda, Town Municipal President H M Dayanand, member Jayashree Gururaj and others were present.
