JOIN USAssistant Commissioner Karigowda and Tahsildar A N Prasad accompanied the team, which collected some documents from the tahsildar’s office and sought more papers. The team left for Bangalore after asking the officials to send relevant papers in a couple of days.
According to information given by high-level officials, the team comprising Krishnappa and Renukaprasad from the Chief Minister’s office could not lay hands on any significant documents during their visit.
“Allegations about properties owned by the Gowda family are not new. All sorts of inquiries into the charges have been conducted right from the 1980s. The officers have observed the formality of a probe in the backdrop of the Chief Minister stating publicly that he himself would come and conduct the inquiry,” an officer said.
