Udupi district will take precautionary measures in the wake of the threat of Swine flu spreading rampantly around the globe.
Speaking to Deccan Herald Udupi District Health Officer (DHO) M R Naik informed that no cases of Swine flu have been reported in the district. The State government have issued orders to all the District Health Centres to be alert, especially in the districts where people from other countries arrive. Common measures like immediate surveillance besides creating awareness among the people, to approach the nearest health centres if the symptoms of the disease are noticed, will be taken once the disease is traced in the district. The treatment is similar to that of the treatment of the other communicable diseases, he added.
