According to sources, the petition was moved on behalf of Rakhi in the High Court on Friday. It is likely to come up for hearing on Monday.
A case has been registered against Rakhi and four others in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi town in connection with the death of a participant who alleged to have died as a result of the humiliation he suffered at the show.
Rakhi and four others have been charged with provoking suicide, besides other sections of the IPC.
The youth, Luxman, who hailed from the Raigarh area in Jhansi, about 300 kilometre from the state capital, had allegedly went into depression and later died after Rakhi reportedly called him “namard” (impotent) when he participated in her show along with his wife.
Luxman had some differences with his wife Anita following which the latter had left him to live with her parents a few months ago.
“Anita had alleged that a member of Luxman's family had tried to rape her," the family said.
The youth went into depression after the reality show was aired on a TV channel and was watched by his friends and neighbours. He died a few days later.
