Govt to encourage Ayurveda units

The minister was speaking on the occasion of the walkathon organised by the Department of AYUSH here on Sunday, as a prelude to the World Ayurveda Congress scheduled to be held on December 9 in the City to promote 'health for all through Ayurveda.'

Ramdas said his department is planning to create 'Vaidya grama’  at the select villages. The Chief Minister would announce the location of the proposed Ayurveda University at the Ayurveda Congress, he added. 

It is learnt that the government has proposed to allot land to units in the State that manufacture Ayurvedic medicines.

Governor H R Bhardwaj flagged off the walkathon in which over 800 persons, including doctors from Ayurvedic colleges such as Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Sushrutha College, Ramakrishna College and Indian Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine participated.
