JOIN USHe said that Dr Ambedkar was great man, who fought for the rights of the socially neglected people.
He was speaking at a programme organised to mark Dr B R Ambedkar Parinirvana Day conducted by the DSS at the Sahitya Parishat Bhavan here on Monday.
Eerappa said that Ambedkar had kept in mind the uplift of all classes of the society. He framed the Constitution which has provided equal opportunity for all, he added.
However, he bemoaned that despite such a Constitution, dalits are still being denied opportunities. Blaming the governments, he said that anti-dalit and anti-farmer policies are being practiced.
Urging the dalits to fight against such discrimination, he said that politicians were making amending the Constitution to suit their needs. SSF Organisation State Secretary K M Siddiqui Managuli, said that Dr Ambekdar opened the eyes of the society. After working for several years, he wrote the Constitution which is considered best in the world.
