As the hospital lack facilities, poor patients were forced to suffer with no other options left. Poor patients in the region have to depend on the hospital, which has 20 beds. Villagers allege that they do not get proper treatment in the hospital. They blame that doctors do not attend patients in the PHC during nights. Following this, many a time, patients were being shifted to Chikmagalur in case of emergency.  The Pharmacist in the PHC, dispenses medicines, in the absence of doctor. Poor patients, who are not in a position to afford treatment in private hospital are forced to take medicines from the pharmacist.

Meanwhile, the patients visit here will have to shell out money to buy medicines from outside as the PHC does not have sufficient medicines in its store. Employees say that the government do not supply medicines properly to the PHC.

Neither the employees nor doctors are bothered about the cleanliness. Waste is being dumped in the compound itself as there is no proper system to dispose it. No action has been taken to remove weeds grown in the hospital premises.

The hospital premises has become breeding ground for mosquitoes. But the patients were not given nets in the hospital. Meanwhile, patients are forced to sleep on floor of the congested building due to shortage of beds.

There are only three ‘D’ group employees in the hospital against the 11 sanctioned posts. As people’s representatives and officials do not respond to the demands, helpless villagers curse the government.
