Italian furniture brand Chateau d'Ax makes India debut

"We have signed a deal with Chateau d'Ax to become master franchisee of the brand in India for a period of 15 years. The plan is to open nine exclusive 'Chateau d'Ax' stores in major cities in the next three years," Style Spa Managing Director Arun Mahajan told PTI.
He said the deal between the two companies marks Chateau d'Ax's entry into India and Style Spa's presence in the premium furniture market.

According to Mahajan, the first exclusive outlet would come up by March next year. "One store would entail an investment of up to Rs 2 crore," he added.

Style Spa will import Chateau d'Ax furniture into India from Italy and make investments for setting up the stores.

"Advertising and marketing spends to establish the brand in India will be shared by the two companies," Mahajan said.

In the first year of the brand's presence in India, Style Spa is targeting a turnover of up to Rs 10 crore from Chateau d'Ax.

"Style Spa expects to close the current financial year with a total turnover of about Rs 110 crore, up from Rs 90 crore last year," he said.

With a presence in over 80 countries, Chateau d'Ax has 140 exclusive stores in Italy and over 300 exclusive retail stores world-wide.

Chennai-based Style Spa has been in the business of furniture retailing for over ten years with a chain of over 100 stores across India.
