'Insiders' leaked sting CD, Reddy tells BJP top brass

At the meeting attended by BJP National President Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday, Reddy is understood to have blamed party insiders for the leak and sought suitable action against them.

The CD, aired by television news channels recently, purportedly shows Reddy striking a deal with a self-proclaimed power broker identified as Ashok Sharma by requesting him to ask the Governor to unseat Chief Minister Yeddyurappa .

Reddy is said to have told the meeting that he had taken up the “sting” operation to embarrass the Governor and had kept all party leaders informed. However, the CD mysteriously found its way to the media at a time when the central leadership had almost decided to ask Yeddyurappa to step down.

The functioning of the Lokayukta is said have figured in the interaction of the State leaders with Gadkari. “You have very weak opposition parties here, but face real opposition from the Governor and the Lokayukta,” the central leader is said to have expressed in a lighter vein.
