'Pension scheme blessing for unorganised workers'

He was addressing a gathering at an awareness programme organised for workers in city on Monday. He further said the scheme ensures social security to the workers, who earlier were deprived of benefits enjoyed by those in the organised sectors.

The pension covers drivers of autorickshaw, taxi, private bus and lorry, hotel workers, cooks, workers in automobile shops, tailors and washermen.

The Pension Regulatory and Development Authority’’s scheme  being implemented by various State governments is a blessing for workers of unorganised sectors. He sensitised workers on the scheme.

Cooks and Assistants Welfare Federation president Nagaraja Rao, District Construction Workers Welfare Association’s general secretary N Nagaraj, Zilla Panchayat member Balaji Chennaiah were present.
